FC Bayern Beats Rottach-Egern 27-0 in Pre-Season Friendly
Bavarian Giants Dominate in First Game of Training Camp
FC Bayern Munich kicked off their pre-season preparations in style, thrashing lower-league side Rottach-Egern 27-0 in a friendly match at their Tegernsee training camp.
Highlights of the Match
The Bavarians were in clinical form from the outset, with new signing Sadio Mané scoring a hat-trick within the first 20 minutes. Thomas Müller added a brace, while Leroy Sané and Serge Gnabry also got on the scoresheet.
The second half was more of the same, with Bayern continuing to pile on the agony for Rottach-Egern. Youngsters Mathys Tel and Jamal Musiala both scored twice, while Josip Stanisic and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also found the net.
Reaction from the Coaches
"I'm very happy with the performance of the team," said Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann after the match. "We played with a lot of intensity and quality, and the result is a reflection of that."
Rottach-Egern coach Florian Heller was understandably disappointed with the result but praised Bayern for their professionalism.
"Bayern are a world-class team, and we knew it was going to be a tough game," said Heller. "But I'm proud of my players for giving it their all."
