Moose Jaw Warriors Drop Game 5 in Overtime to Saskatoon

Article By Marc Smith

May 4, 2024 - Saskatoon, SK - For the second straight game, the Moose Jaw Warriors dropped a heartbreaker in overtime, this time falling 4-3 to the Spokane Chiefs in Game 5 of their Western Hockey League Eastern Conference Final series.

The Warriors had a chance to take a 3-2 series lead with a win in Saskatoon, but couldn't hold on to a 3-1 lead in the third period. The Chiefs scored twice in the final four minutes of regulation to tie the game and send it to overtime, where they eventually won it on a goal by Adam Beckman.

The Warriors now trail 3-2 in the series and will need to win Game 6 in Moose Jaw on Friday night to force a Game 7. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m. at Mosaic Place.

Conclusion

The Warriors have their backs against the wall, but they've shown all season that they're a resilient group. They'll need to put in another strong effort in Game 6 if they want to keep their season alive.
