Warriors Drop Game 5 in Overtime to Saskatoon

For the second straight game the Moose Jaw Warriors let a multi-goal lead slip away in the third period, and for the second straight game they dropped the game in overtime.

The Warriors lost 5-4 to the Saskatoon Blades Wednesday night at SaskTel Centre, giving Saskatoon a 3-2 lead in the WHL Eastern Conference semifinal.

Moose Jaw led 3-1 after the first period and 4-2 after the second, but the Blades stormed back to tie the game with two goals in the final three minutes of the third period.

In overtime, Saskatoon's Jayden Wiens took a pass from Aidan De La Gorgendiere in the slot and beat Warriors goalie Connor Ungar with a wrist shot.

The Warriors now need to win three straight games to advance to the WHL Eastern Conference final.
