Front Line Shift Comes As Ukraine Continues To Push Against Russian Positions In East

Ukraine's Advance in Northeast Gives Kyiv Foothold in Russia-Held Territory

Front Line Shift Comes as Ukraine Continues to Push Against Russian Positions in East

CSIS Maps Track Russian Invasion of Ukraine, Show Evolution of War

The war in Ukraine has entered a new phase, with Ukrainian forces making significant gains in the northeast and continuing to push against Russian positions in the east. The front line has shifted dramatically as Ukrainian forces have liberated towns and villages that had been under Russian control for months.

The Ukrainian advance in the northeast began in early September, and has seen Ukrainian forces push deep into Russian-held territory. Ukrainian forces have liberated the city of Izium, a key Russian stronghold, and are now pushing towards the city of Lyman. The advance has given Ukraine a foothold in Russian-held territory for the first time since the early days of the war.

In the east, Ukrainian forces are continuing to push against Russian positions in the Donbas region. The Donbas has been a key target for Russian forces, and the fighting has been intense. However, Ukrainian forces have made some gains in recent weeks, and are now in control of several towns and villages in the region.

The shift in the front line has been tracked by the Transnational Threats Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). CSIS has produced a series of maps that show the evolution of the war in Ukraine. The maps show the areas controlled by Ukrainian and Russian forces, as well as the location of key battles.

The war in Ukraine is now in its eighth month, and there is no end in sight. However, the Ukrainian advance in the northeast and the continued push in the east show that Ukraine is not giving up. The Ukrainian people are determined to liberate their country from Russian occupation, and they are making significant progress.
