Soto stuns Sox with first walk-off in pinstripes

Soto's heroics lift Yanks to victory

Soto's walk-off homer in the 9th gives Yankees dramatic win

In a thrilling finish to a back-and-forth game, Juan Soto crushed a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the New York Yankees a 6-5 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

With the Yankees trailing 5-4, Soto stepped to the plate with one out and runners on first and second. He worked the count to 2-2 before launching a towering drive over the right-field wall, sending the crowd at Yankee Stadium into a frenzy.

Soto's heroics capped off a remarkable comeback for the Yankees, who had trailed 4-0 early in the game. The Yankees chipped away at the lead, scoring two runs in the 3rd inning and one in the 5th. They tied the game in the 7th inning on a RBI single by Aaron Judge.

The Red Sox regained the lead in the top of the 9th inning on a RBI double by Xander Bogaerts. But the Yankees refused to go down without a fight, and Soto's dramatic homer gave them a much-needed victory.

Soto's walk-off homer was his first since joining the Yankees in a blockbuster trade from the San Diego Padres last month. It was also his first career walk-off hit in pinstripes.

With the win, the Yankees improved to 69-46 on the season, keeping pace with the Houston Astros in the AL East. The Red Sox, meanwhile, fell to 64-51, dropping further behind in the wild-card race.
